TYPICAL SCENARIO

Outage is Running Over-schedule
and You need outside Support

Your unit has been brought down for the 10-year major overhaul. The project is past schedule and over budget and you need a fresh set of eyes on the job. Whether you have the OEM, or an independent service provider, or your own plant staff performing the work, Generex can offer third-party expertise to help optimize the project execution. We can identify process bottlenecks and direct maintenance technician crews to get the job back on track. Our engineering expertise can be used to design custom tooling to get you through unplanned scenarios.

The Job

Six Responsibilities. One Advisor Accountable across all of them

01

Pre-outage Planning

  • Engineering documents, P&IDs, drawings, and work scopes reviewed before mobilization. Job plans, schedules, tooling lists, parts lists, and resource needs developed in detail. Readiness reviews and risk assessments completed. The customer, OEM factory engineers, and subcontractors aligned on a single plan before the first lift.
02

On-site Execution and Technical Direction

  • Direct technical oversight of disassembly, inspection, repair and reassembly of generator components. Supervision of craft labor such as Millwrights and Winder Technicians on the project, typically between 3–24 crew members. Solving everyday problems and troubleshooting issues of a mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical nature.
03

Quality, Safety, and Schedule Adherence

  • Ensuring adherence to OEM, ANSI, and IEEE industry standards for testing and repairs. We also adhere to all OSHA and plant- / country-specific regulations. We act as your witness for all critical project milestones such as witnessing critical testing & torque applications. Any deviations or insufficiencies observed are reported to the client for their review.
04

Customer Support and Training

  • Hands-on instruction for operators and maintenance teams. Operational best-practice guidance and long-term reliability advice. Post-job reviews when the engagement calls for them.
05

Reporting and Administrative Discipline

  • Technical reports, outage findings, and daily and weekly status updates produced throughout the engagement. Timesheets, expense reports, material orders, change orders, and contract compliance handled cleanly. Technical and commercial disputes resolved on site rather than escalated.
06

Emergency and Unplanned Response

  • Forced outages and urgent troubleshooting calls answered around the clock during critical phases of work.
WHAT THE ENGAGEMENT INCLUDES

What You Can Expect from a
Generex TFA Engagement

Consultants observe, take notes, run calculations and make comments. When you need a higher level of engagement, a TFA is the right choice for leadership and accountability on the turbine deck. As a customer, you will receive the following benefits:

Before Mobilization

  • Reviewed and annotated work scope
  • Detailed job plan and schedule
  • Tooling list, parts list, and resource plan
  • Readiness review and risk assessment

During Execution

  • Daily and weekly status updates to customer leadership
  • As-found documentation — measurements, photographs, condition reports
  • Witness records for every critical inspection and test
  • Non-conformance log with on-site resolution
  • Written approval record for any deviation from OEM procedure

At Return to Service

  • As-left documentation against OEM acceptance criteria
  • Post-repair test results and commissioning sign-off
  • Final technical report — outage findings, repair record, and reliability recommendations
  • Operator and maintenance briefing on the work performed
WHY A GENEREX TFA

Three Decades of Proven Leadership: A World of Experience Delivered to Your Turbine Deck

When customers need an independent expert to protect their best interests, Generex can help keep the job on schedule, within budget, and manage to world-class standards of safety and quality.

Proven Leadership

Seniority Matters.

With Generex, you'll never be stuck with fresh "green" talent. We only deploy specialists with decades of proven OEM success.

Any Make, Any Model, Any Vintage.

Generex has three decades of experience working on virtually any make and model of generators, whether air-, hydrogen-, or water cooled; one year, or one century old.

Project Scale

Whether it's a two-man test & inspect project, or a rewind with 12 men per shift, Generex has the experience to deal with projects of varying size and complexity.

Single Point of Contact

With a Generex TFA onsite, you have a SPOC who handles communications, orders from suppliers, labor providers, and transportation companies so you don't have to.

When to Call Generex

Six Situations. A Brief
Conversation Costs Nothing

A New Unit is being Installed or Commissioned

Installation and commissioning windows are where latent defects surface. A senior advisor on the deck enforces OEM procedures from the first lift through grid synchronization.

A Major Outage is Scheduled

Disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, and alignment on a turbine-generator demand a single technical authority on site. A TFA holds the work, the schedule, and the procedures together.

A Repair is Underway & Warranty Exposure is a Concern

Any deviation from OEM procedure puts the warranty at risk. A TFA is the on-site approval authority and the documented record that the work was done correctly.

A Large Crew is Mobilized but no Senior Technical Lead is on site

A major outage crew without a technical leader is a schedule risk and a quality risk. The TFA directs craft labor, supervises subcontractors, and keeps execution aligned with the plan.

A Complex Troubleshooting Issue has Stalled

Mechanical, electrical, and controls issues across the turbine-generator set and its auxiliaries routinely cross discipline boundaries. A TFA brings them under one accountable engineer.

A Forced Outage Requires Immediate Senior Support

When an unplanned event escalates, a TFA can mobilize on short notice and remain on site through critical phases of the recovery.

Engage Generex

In some cases, your issue can be resolved over the phone. In most other cases, you'll need expert help onsite. Either way, one call does it all! It's Generex at your service!
